Hand-letter Hero

2–29 June

A course that lifts your hand-lettering skills to a whole new level — faster than you ever thought possible.

Your handwriting...

Maybe it's that wobbly little line you’ve been hiding.
Or that perfect row of curly letters that once scored you an A+ at school.

But what if — your handwriting isn’t a mess to be fixed but a treasure chest of possibilities?

What if letters could spill from your fingers — letters only you could create?

What if you could learn the soul of your Z the way you get to know a lover — slowly, intimately, lovingly?

What might become possible then?

Ready to give your hand-lettering a heroic upgrade? Then this course is made for you.

Here’s what you’ll get:

✔ 4 juicy modules with 20 lessons (+ 2 delicious bonus lessons).
✔ 2 live Zoom group sessions with me (where you can ask all your questions) + replay.
✔ A fresh, inspiring email in your inbox every weekday (you’re not doing this alone).
✔ 15 beautifully designed worksheets ready for download.
✔ Access to a private, international Facebook community (optional, of course).
✔ Lifetime access to all course materials.
✔ Insights and inspiration from legendary and unknown hand-letterers across time.
✔ Guidance from an artist (hi, it’s me) who makes a real, thriving living through hand-lettering — and who has won prestigious awards, from New York to Tokyo, with work published in major books and exhibitions around the world.

Six reasons to whisper “Oui” to your handwriting

  • 🔹 Your hand never lies.

This isn’t about "pretty," "perfect," or "proper." It’s about listening to your hand. Letting your fingers speak — with their own voice, their own accent, their own music.

  • 🔹 Until it feels right.

You’ll have space. To cut. To paste. To scribble. To curse. And to shift things around until — suddenly — it feels right. Not for Instagram. Not for the teacher. But for you.

  • 🔹 Your handwriting lives here.

When you stop comparing and start truly seeing, your hand becomes braver than you ever imagined. Everything you need is already inside you. Waiting for your yes.

  • 🔹 A treasure chest of possibilities.

    Your handwriting isn’t just a tool. It’s a landscape. A map.
It’s not a trick, it’s an honest expression of your inner world.
Learn to navigate the twists, curves, and cliffs — and you’ll unlock a whole new library inside yourself.

  • 🔹 Your inner critic? Backseat.

Sure, your inner critic will mutter at you along the way. But from now on — they’re in the back seat. You’re at the wheel. You choose where the lines will lead.

  • 🔹 You become visible.

What you create with care, people feel.
Not because it’s perfect — but because it’s alive.
And yes — clients adore hand-lettering with a soul. (Trust me: my students have landed big projects this way.)

What we’ll do together

We’re not rushing through this.
We’ll take time.

Time to really see.
Time to draw.
Time to understand how lines behave — on paper and inside you.

We’ll play.
With typography — from swirly S’s to bold, booming Z’s.
With rhythm, flow, and your own hand-tuned melody.
With style from different eras, vintage letters, and beautiful forms.
With words that slowly grow a face of their own.

And yes — we’ll practice.
A lot.

Because your handwriting doesn’t wake up, simply in theory.
It wakes up through repetition. Through joy. Through trying, stumbling, and trying again.

You’ll draw letters.
You’ll stretch them, stack them, twist them, tease them.
You’ll build words that suddenly — quietly — start to hum with something real.

You don’t have to be a calligrapher.
You don’t have to be a graphic designer.
You don’t even have to think you’re “good at drawing.”

You just need two things:
🖋 A pen.
💛 And a yes.

Imagine this…

Imagine discovering possibilities you didn’t even know existed.
Imagine your handwriting opening up, softening, taking flight.
Imagine creating hand-lettered quotes that deserve a spot on your wall — or in a magazine.

Imagine building a portfolio, a personal library of styles and moods.
Imagine simply remembering how good it feels to make something with care and with your own two hands.

If you’re craving new input, deep inspiration, and real growth — you belong here.

Hand-lettering isn’t some cheap trick you pull out of a box.
It’s an invitation.
An invitation to slow down.
To play with shapes, unexpected curves, and lines you nudge into becoming something new.

Your handwriting is a fingerprint.
It’s not missing — it’s waiting.
Maybe you just haven’t seen it yet.

Maybe school rules and comparison and trying to “get it right” have tucked it away.

Hand-lettering is learning to let go.
And trust.
And here’s the secret: it’s not hard.
You just have to start.

Things you’re probably wondering (but maybe are too shy to ask)

❖ Do I have to be good at hand-lettering already?

Nope.
You don’t need to be “good.”
You just need to be curious.
If you’ve ever doodled a letter on the back of a grocery list — you’re in.

❖ Is this a calligraphy course?

No.
Calligraphy follows strict traditional rules. Hand-lettering is about your style, your rhythm, your thumbprint on the world. No rules — but a lot of playful structure, rhythm, and creative choices.

❖ How much time will it take each day?

Around 20–40 minutes per lesson.
But honestly?
You’re the boss.
You can binge it in your pajamas or pace yourself soulfully over the weeks.
No deadlines. No stress.

❖ What materials do I need?

A pen. A sketchbook. An open heart.
You'll get a list of my favorite tools — but honestly, even a simple ballpoint pen will do.

❖ Will I get personal feedback?

You can post questions in the private Facebook group, and if you tag me, I’ll jump in and answer.
There’s no 1:1 coaching, but you’ll never feel alone.

❖ What if I’m traveling during the course?

Then you pause.
And you come back when you’re ready.
You have lifetime access.
Creativity doesn’t expire.

❖ I’m still hesitating.

Hesitation is just curiosity in costume.
If your heart sparks even a little — follow it.
(But don’t wait too long. The journey is starting soon.)

📩 Still have a question?

Email me. I don’t bite. (Unless you send me an email in Comic Sans. Then we’ll have words.)

Hi, I’m Marenthe.

Award-winning illustrator, lettering artist, and founder of The Art Beat Club.

In 2008, Phaidon Press USA named me one of the 100 most visionary designers in the world.
I’ve worked with Flow Magazine, Hallmark, Philips, Running Press, The Royal Dutch Opera, PostNL — and dozens of other dream clients.
My work has been published in major books about hand-lettering, and honored in New York, London, Switzerland, and Tokyo.

And above all:
I actually make my living through handlettering. I know what moves people. What art directors look for. What makes handwriting sing — I don’t just follow the crowd.

And I never traded in my authenticity to get there.

I’m here to share everything I know: the craft, the confidence, the love of letters.

We’re not aiming for "pretty."
We’re aiming for true. For expressive. For this is me.

Are you ready?
Let's draw your story.

Ready to draw the line?

This is your invitation.
Not to be perfect.
Not to be someone else.
But to be wildly, wonderfully, unmistakably you
in ink, in lines, in letters.
